The Chinese New Year Open House is organized to reunite the people from different social circles to celebrate this merrymaking festival. It is set off by the cultural performances such as Lion Dance and other activities like distribution of mandarin oranges and ‘ang pow’ (red packet). Not forgetting the ‘Lou Sang’ (a variety of vegetables, crackers and raw fish to be mixed by the people together), a typical dish to be served during the Open House. These meaningful happenings will be carried out to create awareness among the citizens on how the celebration of Chinese New Year could bring each other closer. It will be an eye-opening event for those who have not experienced and want to discover further on the Chinese culture. You certainly would not want to miss the chance to feel the atmosphere of solidarity!
