This is the second time I share my experience for my vacation, just because there is not many Pulau Rawa trip report can be found, with this, I hope i can help some other travelers who are planning for a trip to this beautiful unspoiled island in Johor. We are a group of 5 and we stayed in Pulau Rawa for 3 days 2 nights, our objective, overturn Rawa Island!

It is a known fact that this beautiful island in Johor has been developed since 40 years ago. Visitors only needs about 30 minutes of traveling time depart from Mersing Jetty and you will be amazed and hard to believe that there is such a gorgeous and yet unspoiled white sandy beach!

Where we stay

We are staying in Rawa Island Resort and the room that we booked is standard room (but got upgraded into deluxe). We took the full board package and the price includes the room, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners and 2 ways boat transfer. Just a friendly reminder, visitors to this resort are not allowed to bring foods or beverages from outside, otherwise you will be charged. Although the price is slightly higher as compare to other islands such as Tioman Island, Perhentian Island or Redang Island, however, if you come to the beach, you will feel that everything is just worth the price.

In Rawa Island, there is not many local and most of the visitors are foreign tourists. Most importantly that the island is not crowded and peaceful, it is definitely a good place to relax and enjoy.

Depart from Johor Bahru

We depart from Johor Bahru (JB), and the traveling time from JB to Mersing Jetty is around 2.5 hours. Our boat departs from Mersing Jetty at 9am and just because it is raining in the morning, so we have to depart earlier as planned. The jetty that departs to Rawa Island is just sitting next to the jetty departs to Tioman Island, the jetty owns a private parking area, for a fee of RM30 per car.

This is the Rawa Island Resort office at Mersing Jetty, every visitor to the resort must register in the office before boarding the boat.
