Chaweng Beach |
One of the most popular island getaways in Thailand, Koh Samui is situated in the Gulf of Thailand. Awarded with the “hidden gem” status, Samui is well known for its white sandy beaches, pristine water and relaxing island atmosphere.
Chaweng beach is the most popular beach in Samui with plenty of luxury beach resorts built on the shoreline. The nightlife activities are endless with a line up of restaurants, clubs and bars along the main street. Chaweng Noi and North Chaweng are both spectacular for dining on the beach.
On the other hand, Lamai beach is the second most popular beach in Samui. Located just 10 minutes away from Chaweng, Lamai beach is best to enjoy relaxation and privacy. Full range of hotels can be found at Lamai beach, from backpacker hotels to all inclusive luxury resorts and villas. Bars and clubs can also be found in Lamai Village to cater for travellers who are looking for some night entertainment after the darkness falls.
Bo Phut is located on the northern coast of Samui. Far less popular than Chaweng or Lamai, hotels and resorts in Bo Phut can provide a little more seclusion, though shops and restaurants are not too far away. Bo Phut is also a famous destination for scuba diving excursions.
